Ceratogyrus darlingi, also known as the Rear-Horned Baboon, is a species of tarantula native to southern Africa. It is named for the distinctive horn-like projection on the carapace of mature males. These tarantulas are typically dark brown to black in color, with a robust body covered in dense setae (hairs). They are medium-sized, with a leg span of around 12 to 15 centimeters. Ceratogyrus darlingi is a burrowing species, often found in savanna habitats, where it constructs silk-lined burrows for shelter. They are primarily nocturnal hunters, feeding on insects and other small invertebrates.
