Psalmopoeus irminia, also known as the Venezuelan Suntiger, is a species of tarantula native to Venezuela and Guyana. It is known for its striking coloration and aggressive behavior. Adult specimens typically have a leg span ranging from 13 to 15 centimeters. The overall body coloration is black, with distinctive orange-red stripes on the legs and abdomen, giving it a vibrant appearance. Psalmopoeus irminia is an arboreal species, often found in trees and foliage in its natural habitat. It constructs silk retreats among branches for shelter. Due to its defensive nature, it is considered best suited for experienced tarantula keepers. As nocturnal hunters, they feed primarily on insects and other small invertebrates.
